be green treated.
- 1. Unpack the Stump and separate the 4 main parts. (Steel
Plate, Stump Top, Door, and Stump Bottom). Take the Stump bottom and flip it
over onto it's topside. (So bottom is facing the sky). Take the Steel plate
and flip it onto of the Stump Bottom so the plate sits flat to the Stump
bottom.
- 2. Line up the steel plate flush with the bottom edge
opening of the door on the Stump Bottom. Once plate is lined up and squared
up on all sides, drill 1/4" holes into Stump Bottom using the holes in the steel
plate as a guide. After holes are drilled out run a 1/4"-20 x 1" bolt through
the 5 holes and tighten with washer and lock nut. Be sure to have washer on
the side of the poly floor so when tightened the washer is tightening down on
the poly. Have the lock nut snug up to the steel plate.

- 3. Once steel plate is attached, flip this bottom unit over
onto the steel plate. Take the Stump Door and attach it to the hinges place
at the door opening. Make sure the wording and the bark pattern is facing
out. Now is time to refer to window kit assembly.

- 4. Take the Stump Top and set it on top
of the Stump Bottom. Line up the flanges so that the flange is flush all the
way around the stump. Take a 1/4" drill and drill 6 holes evenly spaced out
around the stump, preferably under each window. Drill the holes through the
bottom flange and through the top flange. Put your 1/4" x 2 1/2" bolts in each
hole, with washers on each side, immediately after drilling out each hole!
After Holes are drilled and bolts are in place tighten the nuts. This will help
it keeping it in line as you drill the remaining holes. If you prefer to put
the top on after it is elevated, pre drill all the holes and mark them so you
can line them up while assembling in the field.
- 5. After all the nuts are tightened set the complete Stump
unit on its side. Now your ready to insert your legs.
- 6. Take your Green Treated 4x4 and slide them into
the steel pockets. Run the 4x4 legs up until they hit the bottom of the seat
on the Stump Bottom. Take the lag bolts and screw them into the 4x4 legs
through the holes in the 4x4 steel pockets. Two lag bolts for each pocket.
Once the lag bolts are in, take 2 x 4's and frame up your legs then you are
ready to stand up your Stump.
- 7. We suggest you digging the 4x4 legs into the ground at
least two feet or below you suggested frost line. The higher your stand is in
the air the further you should dig it into the ground. Proper back fill in
the holes is required and packing it in good is necessary. Your type of soil
in your area can also be a determinant on how deep you should dig in your
legs. We don't suggest going higher that 10 ft. in the air.
- 8. Once you have the Stump set up on its legs you must lag
bolt the top of the green treated 4x4. Crawl into the stump and screw down
from the seat into the top of the 4x4. Make sure the 4x4 are level before
screwing down into the top of them. Use a washer on the lag bolt when
tightening the lag bolt down.
- 9. We suggest for any legs over 6' high to put a series of
2x4's between the legs for cross bracing to tie them all together and give
more stability in your legs.
- 10. You are now ready to start hunting out of the Stump! Good Luck!
